A good table saw is necessary for every contractor or handyman. With the table saw you can cut planks to size, divide the wood in two and even make diagonal cuts. It is very important that you make a wise investment on the saw table to get the best out of your dollar. In this report we will focus on the Dewalt DWE7491RS 10-inch table saw.
- A powerful engine cuts almost anything with ease.
- Tilt stop allows narrow length cuts
- Telescopic gates offer better performance with smaller packages
- The rental frame works perfectly, even on bumps, stairs and sidewalks.
- Pretty heavy, at 90 pounds.
- The mitrometer is useless and should be replaced immediately.
- The surface of the worktop is easy to clean.

Is it difficult to build a Dewalt DWE7491RS?
The DWE7491RS is easy to install and configure, and I was at work in half an hour. The instructions for the table saw are simple and easy to read, and the assembly steps are quite simple. I was very pleased with the availability of the various calibration and fine tuning checks on the DWE7491RS, although I didn’t really need them. This saw was in fact 100% calibrated and ready to use, which I rarely see!
What are the best features of the DWE7491RS?
Perhaps the best feature I have seen on the DWE7491RS is the patented material support that allows very narrow long cuts. It’s a good feature that saves me a lot of money on wasted material when I have to make narrow slots.
The telescopic fence is also a good addition to this table saw, because this very compact table saw simply cannot handle material widths to those other saws. You can break it up to 32-1/2, but the table is narrow enough for easy storage and transport.
This table saw is equipped with a 15 A motor, which is more than enough to cut even the hardest types of wood. The cutting depth is more than sufficient for most needs and the roller supports are good and sturdy so that the saw remains horizontal, but can always be moved if necessary.
The rolling grandstand is also a winner in my opinion, because it is an oversized wheel that makes it easy to maneuver steps and curbs without scratching the end of the grandstand.
How long does the Dewalt DWE7491RS last?
My experience is that the Dewalt DWE7491RS is just as durable as a tank. Mine has fallen a few times (I’m clumsy, what can I say?) and keeps ticking without a hitch. I think the steel structure is a bit heavy, but I’m standing up for its strength. The cab is also quite robust and can withstand a lot of abuse and use.
Unfortunately, the finish of the cutting table is not very solid. A little friction and it’s gone, so the worktop seems to be used much sooner than you’d like.
Is the DWE7491RS user-friendly?
This table saw is a light breeze. The large stop button can be easily bent or switched off in an emergency, the fence blades can also be easily adjusted with one hand and the folded fence blade for narrow slots is only glossy. He cuts through almost anything that can be thrown at him like a hot knife through butter, even cherries 4×4.
The mitrometer of the DWE7491RS, like most of the mitrometers supplied with the table saw, is practically useless. The I quickly installed an aftermarket mithrometer, which is almost my standard anyway. It’s just too bad you have to do it with a table saw for such a price.
If you want to usedado inlays, none of the dado inlays currently on the market are accurate and usually fit loosely enough. I use a combination of a Dado insert and a zero clearance plate to make it work, but hopefully Dewalt will come out with some accessories in the near future.
As a last resort, a small handle and awarning: This saw activates a 15 A grinder when used heavily. Although the engine is designed for 15 Amps, it draws more than a solid, thick block of wood. So you can be sure that you are using a vacuum breaker with a 15 amp fuse or a 20 amp chainsaw. I’m not even sure if it’s a handle, but it’s frustrating to have to run home to flip the switch back in the middle of the cut!
What is the warranty on the Dewalt DWE7491RS?
Dewalt offers a 3 year limited manufacturer’s warranty. It is quite easy to work with your service staff, but if you are one of the few people who has to repair your saw, be prepared to pay for the delivery yourself. I’ve been walking around with Duvalt, and they won’t give in.
Dewalt DWE7491RS Overview Summary
With the Dewalt DWE7491RS, Dewalt has built a powerful table saw for precision work on the construction site. He cuts through almost anything you can throw at his head and cuts with ease. She gets used too quickly to what I like, but it’s a cosmetic problem that has nothing to do with what I bought this table saw for: to cut into pieces and help me do DIY and carpentry more quickly. The saw is perfectly suited for such tasks. If you are interested, take a look at the price list of Amazon.com for the Rockwell RK7240.1 table saw.
